  • Interesting Trivia

    • The undeveloped coffee beans, known as quakers, are what make coffee taste really bad (e.g., bitter).  The cheaper bags of coffee will have more quakers per bag than the costlier bags because it is an expensive process removing the quakers.  The quakers shown on tv were light-brownish in color.  (Saw on tv's America's Test Kitchen.  This and Alton Brown's show provide a lot of interesting food science.  If I had a tv & cable I would probably watch them the most.  Yes, I still do not have a television set by choice.)
    • Transformers Bumblebee is no longer a VW Beetle due to Volkswagen not wanting to associate their products with "war-themed media" (From my litl' brother and "confirmed" on Wikipedia).

  • Coffee is disgusting regardless of how many quakers are in there!

  • Charbucks actually uses mixed quality beans, whereas Dunkin uses 100% Arabica beans (highest quality).  Charbucks overoasts their beans, giving it the burnt flavor.  Go Dunkin Go!!

  • You know,  Wikipedia can be edited by anyone...It is not always the most truthful resource for information...  Learned this when I used it as a reference on a school paper and my info was wrong... Bummer for me, becuase it does have a lot on information.

  • Roo_Girl83: Haha, come up for a visit again, and we'll brew you a delightful taste of coffee. My coworker goes through the trouble of using a vacuum-sealed pot, gold filter, and grinder with different grinding levels.

Baotze: Yeah, the overbrewing is the most common complaint about Starbucks I've heard. The upside that I've heard is that they're at least consistent and somewhat ubiquitous in the metro areas.

Dabridgemaster: True, true about Wikipedia (hence my quotes about being "confirmed"). Hopefully it can be good jumping point for future work.
